Review: “Ring of Fire” at Midtown Arts Center is a Mid-Winter Winner!

Within a few moments of the show’s beginning I realized I was seeing something quite special. The setting is minimal, but very inviting and effective, the lighting is very good, and the voices performing the more-than-30 numbers are amazing! “Ring of Fire” results in an evening of super music. The show itself is just two hours, making the entire event, including dinner, not much more than a well-spent three or so hours. Read More

Tattle Tales, Sweeney Todd Review

“ONE HUGE THUMBS UP FOR MIDTOWN’S “SWEENEY TODD” Those who’ve suffered through my 30-plus years of reviewing in Fort Collins will know I rarely give entirely positive reviews to theatrical productions: But this week, I’m pleased to offer a well-earned thumbs-up.  Midtown Arts Center has put together a thoroughly pleasing production of Stephen Sondheim’s “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.” …A top-notch cast that works together splendidly. This one is Grade A all the way.  Midtown has cast the best and brightest for an entirely enjoyable evening. So enjoyable, in fact, my cheeks ached from smiling by the end of the night.

Colorado Theatre Reviews, Miss Saigon Review
“Kurt Terrio and his associates at Midtown Arts Center in Fort Collins are on a roll. Like the Les Miserables composers, however, they are not ready to rest on their laurels! Within the past year or so they have thrilled audiences with ShrekMonty Python’s Spamalot, and their cast of Les Miserables received a standing ovation at this year’s Henry awards, sponsored by the Colorado Theater Guild. The show was nominated for Best Musical…” Read More >>

Loveland Reporter-Herald, White Christmas Review
“What began at the Carousel Dinner Theatre in 2008 is now an annual tradition with sell-out crowds at Midtown Arts Center where productions enjoy state-of-the-arts technology and space tailored to dinner theater needs. The show is an adaptation of the classic 1954 film starring Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye as World War II Army buddies turned song-and-dance men who follow two singing sisters — Rosemary Clooney and Vera Allen — to a Vermont inn. It’s full of stunning dance, Technicolor sets and retro costumes, all centered around Irving Berlin’s enduring music, including the title song, White Christmas.” Read More >>

“I love live entertainment. I saw a show at Midtown Arts Center and was blown away by the talent of the performers – and pleasantly surprised by the food. Let’s face it, dinner theater is not generally known as fine dining, however, Midtown Arts Center takes pride in their food and serves good dinners before the show.”

– Gary C. Yelp

“We attended the Les Miserables show last fall. What a fabulous production! It was higher quality than I could have expected from a local dinner theater. Wonderful voices, especially some of the leading parts. Great sound from the orchestra pit. Excellent staging. And of course it’s one of the best musical scores ever. It was so well done that we went again a few weeks later.”
